FLY IN & FLY OUT EVEREST VERTICAL LIMIT

　　　The main highlight of this trip is to Mt. Everest Base Camp and Rongbuk Monastery. Everest, in Chinese, Qongmolangma, stretching on the Sino-Nepal border, in the middle section along the Himalaya range, to the south of Tingri County. It stands as the highest peak in the world with 8848.13m above sea level within the circumference of 5000-sq. km. Around the peak, there are about four of the 8000-meter high peaks, and thirty-eight of the 7000-meter high peaks. The Rongbuk Monastery at the foot of the Everest is the highest monastery in the world. It is only 40km away from the peak and is the base camp for mountaineers to climb its summit from its north slope. Glaciers are widely distributed on the north slope of the peak, there are 217 pieces among which the biggest is Rongbuk Glacier.

Itinerary:

Day 01 Morning pick up from hotel and transfer to Chengdu Shuangliu Airport, flight to Lhasa by China Airlines, aircraft type A340 or B757, 7:30/9:10am. Guide will pick you up from Lhasa Gonggar airport and transfer to Lhasa city (100km), check in 3star Xiongbala hotel or same standard.

Day 02 Full day sightseeing in Lhasa: AM visit the monumental Palace of Kings and Dalai Lamas- Potala Palace, PM PM visit Tibet’s most sacred temple Jorkhang Temple & Barkhor street. Overnight in Xiongbala Hotel or same standard

Day 03 Morning drive towards southwest to Yamdrok Lake via Kamba La Pass (4794m), the sacred water so called “Swan Lake”. After picnic lunch at lake side, onwards to Gyantse (260km),the city famous of its art and architecture . Aifter visiting Pelkhor Chode, the great temple of Gyantse, and Kumbum Monastery, the monumental showcase for 15th-century painters, continuely drive to Shigatse (100km), overnight in Shigatse Hotel.

Day 04 Morning visit the famous monastic city of the Pachen Lamas- Tashilunbo Monastery in Shigatse, then drive towards west to Tingri), en route you may visit Sakya Monastery (paid by your selves), the massive citadel of the Sakyapas (350km), o/n in Tingri guest house

Day 05 Drive towards west and turn south to Rongbuk Monastery which is the highest Monastery in the world, and only 8km far from Everest Base Camp (170km), o/n in Rongbuk Monastery guest house

Day 06 Morning hike around Rongbuk (5200m) and Everest Base Camp. The world’s highest mountain Everest, Tibetan name Chomolangma, was first recognized as the world’s tallest in 1840. Same day drive back to Lhatse/Shigatse, overnight in Shigatse Hotel

Day 07 Drive from Shigatse back to Lhasa via Northern route (Note: if in case the road under renovation, we may drive through Tibet/Nepal highway via the ferry and Yangpacheng Hot Spring which causes 90km extra dstance). Overnight in Lhasa Xiongbala Hotel

Day 08 Early morning transfer to airport and fly back to Chengdu by CA4402, China airlines, 10:30/12:10am. Tour ends!
